Time flies... Zorian finally turned 1 mth old after a gruelling confinement period for me. It was a tough 1 mth for me as I struggled through keeping myself sane + tackling all the 'old wife's tales' of all the "Do's and Don't's" during confinement.

Summary of all the "Do's and Don'ts"

1. Cannot shampoo your hair.
2. Cannot drink plain water. Must drink water cooked with red dates.
3. Cannot on the fan.
4. Must wear long sleeves top and long pants to cover all exposed areas so as to prevent wind from 'sipping' through the skin. Logic here is to prevent rheumatism.
   
5. Must eat lots of ginger and wine/dom.
6. Cannot eat bread because of presence of yeast.
7. Cannot walk barefooted. Must wear slippers or socks.
8. Eat "Mee Sua" every morning.
   
9. Must shower with herbs in warm water.
   

Wanted to shave off Zorian's hair but it was difficult as his head is so small and soft. In the end, only snipped off a few strands of hair for formality? I wonder what's the logic behind this practice? Hmmm....

Arrival of my Miracle, Zorian

Visited Dr Douglas Ong that week and was still contemplating to induce myself if boy's overdue. Totally no sign of labor and hence went for my usual mahjong dosage @ Huimin/Aliying's place on 8 Sept 07. 1/2 way through the game, I felt my water bag burst. It was exactly my EDD date! My boy has decided that it's time. The most 'champion' thing was we CONTINUED with the game after my bag burst as it was only 'drips' and not 'gushes' yet. Game went on for another 1 hr or so till 2.30am, I suddenly shouted 'Stop' and ran to the toilet. Gushes of water came out and it was finally time to go hospital. *Gee (I was having the best of cards then - "Gor Tai 五台"!! --> Only mahjong freaks will know what I'm saying) What an experience here! Haha

Admitted myself to Mt A at 4.30am after going home to pack and shower and thereafter was a super long wait.

Description of labor pain: Who says its 10x menstrual cramp? Bullshit! I felt like someone was trying to rip my whole body into 1/2. Chinese saying is "五馬分尸"!

Finally boy was delivered @ 9pm after a gruelling 20 hrs of labor pain.

People asked me why name him Zorian?
Reason: Zorian stands for 'Happiness'. Life is certainly not a bed of roses and hence we hope that he'll be happy. :) We wanted to give him a unique name rather than a common name.

Pregnancy Milestones

Ist Trimester - Aweful. Scary. Sacrifices. *Puking all the way and was warded to Mt A because of dehydration. What an experience...

2nd Trimester - My agony of nauseous feeling ended at 13 weeks. Finally some food down the stomach. Lost a total of 5 kg!

3rd Trimester - Getting heavier @ 5.5 mths, I can no longer fit into my clothes. Time to wear 'aunty' clothings as I simply refused to buy lotsa expensive maternity wear.

Last Trimester - Total weight gain = 17 kg!
